    About the Course Directors...

    Rod has a BA in Criminology and criminal justice from Ohio State University and an MA in administration from American University in Washington D.C. As a former homicide detective, he is recognised as a leading authority on law enforcement issues and has been asked to serve as keynote speaker to many organisation on crime-related matters, he is an active Member of the American Society of Criminal Justice, The American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers and the recent past Chairman of the Food and Agricultural Security Council of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS). His responsibilities are to assist food processors and manufacturing corporations with the development and implementation of their food defence plans, procedures and guidelines.

    Deryck works with many Food and Food Packaging companies worldwide. He has worked for AIB International for 15 years: he began as an auditor and has now been Regional General Manager - Europe, Africa and the Middle East for the last 9 years. Previously he has worked for Allied Domecq, Kraft, Unilever and Associated British Foods in Production and Quality Management Roles. He has audited facilities and trained personnel all over the world. He speaks at many seminars worldwide and enjoys promoting the growing importance of Food Defence in today's industry. He has carried out Food Defence Audits around the globe and, most recently, has been in South Africa running a Food Defence course, the first of its kind in that part of the world.

    Crisis Management Consultancy services and training courses have been run in the UK, Spain, Ireland and around the world as far afield as South America, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, the United States and many European countries.  Private clients include many of the Europe's top ten food and drinks manufacturers and major UK food retailers.

    In 2008 Tony was appointed as Chairman of the Anaphylaxis Campaign a national charity for people with severe allergies. He is a Member of the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management. Recently, Tony has been a contractor to the Food Standards Agency on issues associated with the susceptibility and vulnerability of various food supply chains to intentional contamination. Appointed as Head of Food Security in January 2010, Tony will be investigating the role of Leatherhead in all strategic issues associated with the long term requirements of food security and the role that Leatherhead needs to play in this important area.
